Members of the Montgomery County Department of Police say that Quinnel Martin has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute after officers found a large quantity of methamphetamine/MDMA, also known as "molly," following the crash in Gaithersburg.

Officers were patrolling the area of West Diamond Avenue on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 15, when they reportedly saw Martin committing a traffic violation in a gold Toyota Camry.

Police attempted to stop Martin, who continued to drive and collided with a tow truck and white Toyota RAV4 in the area of Clopper Road and Firstfield Road.

After the collision, Martin got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away, though police say that officers quickly caught up to him and found a large amount of "molly" and an undisclosed amount of cash on his person.

Martin was also charged with fleeing police following the pursuit.

After Martin was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit, police learned that he had multiple outstanding warrants for first-degree assault, witness intimidation, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
